Why should I be a tester?
You would be helping The Fair Housing Action Center of MD (FHAC) fulfill its mission to ensure that every citizen in our state be able to live wherever they want without fear of housing discrimination. Without the help of the help of testers, FHAC wouldn’t be able to expose discriminatory housing practices .
What does testing consist of?
Fair Housing tests are conducted under FHAC’s Fair Housing program. Testing is similar to mystery shopping, in that the tester plays the role of someone interested in renting or purchasing a home. The purpose of our testing is to ensure that fair housing laws are being adhered to by the rental or sales agent.
What are the requirements?
FHAC is currently recruiting testers of diverse backgrounds. Testers must be computer literate, proficient with writing in English, and have reliable transportation. For each completed test, testers are paid a stipend and reimbursed for expenses. Testing is a great side hustle with a social justice mission.
